The Level 1 Award in introduction to Health, Social Care and Children and Young People’s setting RQF is awarded by TQUK and regulated by Ofqual. The purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment, including an apprenticeship, in a job role which includes customer service to prepare them for further learning or training. The mandatory and optional units cover a range of areas relevant to the sector allowing learners to tailor the content to meet their individual needs.

Entry Requirements:

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level 3 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 14 years and above

Progression:

Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:

TQUK Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF)

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (RQF)

Structure

Learners will need to achieve a minimum of 10 credits of which 6 credits are from the mandatory Group and 4 credits from the optional Group.

Mandatory Units:

Understand the Principles and Values in Health and Social Care; adults, children and young people as well as early years and childcare Level 1 3 Credits

Understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care, adults, children and young people as well as early years and childcare Level 1 3 Credits

Optional Modules:

Awareness of protection and safeguarding in Health and social Care adults, Children as well as early years and childcare Level 1 3 Credits

Introduction to communication in Health and social Care adults, Children as well as early years and childcare Level 1 2 Credits

Introductory awareness of equality and inclusion in health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings Level 1 3 Credits

Introductory awareness of health and safety in Health and social Care adults, Children as well as early years and childcare Level 1 4 Credit

Introductory awareness of person-centred support in health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings Level 1 3 Credits

Introductory awareness of working with others in Health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings Level 1 2 Credits

Guided Learning Hours:

This Qualification requires 100 hours of self study with a 10 hour guided learning. Learners are expected to study and complete aspects of their assessment portfolio in their own time.
