Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF)
The Level 2 award in Food Safety in catering is regulated by Ofqual which is awarded by TQUK. This course provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of the importance of good personal and workplace hygiene, and to take responsibility for food safety in a catering environment. Students will understand how to keep food safe from contamination.
The Level 2 Food Safety for catering is intended for learners wanting further training or to develop knowledge and or/skills in this subject area. The objectives of this qualification include preparing learners to progress to a qualification in the same subject area at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding, preparing learners for employment and supporting a role in the workplace.

Entry Requirements:
- There are no specific entry Requirements but a minimum Level 2 Numeracy or Equivalent
- Candidates must be a minimum of 14Years old
- Suitable for Learners on Foundation Learning Programes
- IT literate (Internet, Microsoft office)
- Able to understand and interpret course materials
- Self-motivated and willing to complete and achieve
- It is not Necessary that learners have access to be working, however it is recommended you have access to a volunteering role
Progression:
Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as the Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety for Catering or further qualifications and apprenticeships in the food and manufacturing and supply chain sector.

Guided learning Hours
Guided Learning hours to complete the course is 9 hours. Students have access to a dedicated Tutor and Assessor working with them through the course. This qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessment subject to external quality assusrance
